1 COAT, 3 WAYS

In honor of Max Mara's 60th anniversary, three fashion-savvy New Yorkers put their own unique spin on the company's iconic camel coat.

PR Maven: Eugenia Gonzalez

Mexican-born Eugenia Gonzalez aims to incorporate her love of “color, vintage, and contrasting shapes” in every outfit."

The  PR director achieves this by mixing neutrals with bold hues and prints.
"I like that the coat makes the look subtle at first, but when you open it the color jumps out at you," she says, "like a little hidden secret."

                                        Model and Actrees: Byrdie Bell

“Bare legs feel like a relatively inoffensive way to show some skin,” notes the statuesque Byrdie Bell, who also favors wild prints and hits of neon.
Her style icons run the gamut from Michael Jackson to Veronica Lake to Patti Smith, which could explain why awkward is her favorite fashion descriptor.
"I'm most likely to invest in a beautiful coat for fall and throw it on over whatever I'm wearing," she says. "I can only imagine how beautiful this one will look in 20 years."

Fashion Writer: Jennifer Alfano

As cofounder and editor of keepitchic.com, Jennifer Alfano writes about fashion’s various trends. For her day-to-day look, though, she describes herself as a minimalist who prefers clean lines and understated colors as opposed to an outré ensemble.

"Navy, white, gray, camel, and black—they are all interchangeable, and I like having clothes that work well together," she says.
For added punch, she relies on red and leopard-print accessories. "I count on my shoes to give that kick. Or a bag. Or both!"
